Fly from Phoenix to Sacramento and spend one night in California’s Capital City. Discover Old Town in California’s Capital City and the Railroad Museum before embarking on a scenic tour through the Sierra Nevadas via rail. Travel from Sacramento to Reno on Amtrak through Donner Pass and along the Truckee River. Visit Lake Tahoe a pristine 22-mile-long lake and enjoy the MS Dixie cruise on the crystal-blue lake. At an elevation of 6,226 feet above sea level, Lake Tahoe is 99.9% pure. Discover the colorful history of Carson City, the State Capital of Nevada nestled between the majestic rise of the Sierra Nevadas. And finally, visit Virginia City and experience a walk through time with the 1870’s boardwalks, saloons, museums, and unique mercantile. You will fly back to Phoenix from Reno after five fun-filled days of adventure.
