Free Spirit Vacations offers tours to the new Grand Canyon Skywalk

Gilbert, Arizona — Free Spirit Vacations, a Gilbert based tour operator, is featuring a travel package to the new Grand Canyon Skywalk on the Hualapai Reservation in northwest Arizona on June 23-24, 2007.

Suspended 4,000 feet above the Colorado River on the edge of the Grand Canyon, the glass Skywalk provides views straight down of the Canyon. Visitors walk beyond the canyon walls and become surrounded by the Grand Canyon while standing at the edge of this Glass Bridge.

The Hualapai are a native people of the Southwest. Traditionally they inhabited an area of more than five million acres. Their homeland stretched from the Grand Canyon Southward to the Bill Williams and Santa Maria rivers, and from the Black Mountains eastward to the pine forests of the San Francisco Peaks. Finding a balance between form, function and nature, the Skywalk allows the Hualapai a chance to share the wonder of the canyon with visitors from throughout the world.

The tour package departs from the Phoenix area and also includes historic Route 66 towns of Kingman, Seligman, and Oatman. Overnight is spent at the Ramada Express in Laughlin, NV. A lunch is also included in the package price of $225 per person based on double occupancy.

Free Spirit Vacations has been offering travel packages for the past ten years. Recently they were awarded the Top Tour Operator in North America by the North America Travel Journalists Association based on the diversity of product and the quality of service offered. "A tour is more than the destination," states Sue Arko, owner of Free Spirit Vacations. "Our business is about people and sharing the world with them. We look forward to sharing some of the treasurers of Arizona on this itinerary ."
